Costa Rica is known for its Rainforest and Coastlines with its strong Spanish Influence reflected on their lifestyle. Pottery is also a known art in the country that dates back to the pre-colonial era and the mix of culture gave a distinct touch to their interiors and choice of materials for their spaces.

This Interior style exercise explores a more thematic approach to Costa Rican interiors. Their Interior is a mix of Spanish and tropical style but it is more subdued in color and decorations compared to other related Hispanic styles. Costa Ricans use sustainable materials in their interiors like reclaimed wood products, weave, wicker, rustic finishes, and other plant-based decorations, all reflected in the styled living room.
There is also a subtle nod to the pre-colonial history of the country with pottery by using polished terracotta flooring and Machuca tiles as the accent piece in the living area.

It’s good to remember to style your homes with what feels natural and comfortable. They love nature and they emphasize it in their designs. Costa Rican style is known for simple and airy beach vibes, so avoid over decorating and putting a lot of unnecessary decorations in your homes.
